The photos for this portfolio were taken in September 2006 with a German made Agfa Clack medium format camera using Fuji Acros 100 b&w film. The Clack is an inexpensive, plastic camera manufactured between 1954 and 1965. It has a fixed aperture of f11 and a simple shutter mechanism of around 1/35th of a second. It also has a B mode shutter setting to hold the aperture open. One other accommodation for exposure control is a built-in yellow filter. The Clack takes eight photos on 120 roll film in a 6cm x 9cm format. The film was processed and printed on 5"x7" sepia toned, luster finish paper. The prints were scanned and Photoshop was used to crop and minimally adjust the contrast. The final large format prints, up to 26" x 20", were printed on canvas using Epson Ultrachrome pigment inks.
