Several inches of snow fell, then ice, then more snow all in a ten day span. On this mid-morning day the clouds rolled by quickly, forming transient shadows that faded in and then out. Before me was a dynamic play of light and shadow emphasized by the high contrast that winter is so adept at presenting. Because of the mid-teen temps, my glove-less hands were in my pockets most of the time as I tromped through the woods. Pulling them out to compose and capture the enchanting woods in winter. |
