bermuda garden | february 2008

my new found friends in bermuda, george and marijke peterich, are such gracious and wonderful people. in fact, all gardeners who invite me in to their garden to meander about on my own with camera in hand are wonderful people. the peterichs are particularly nice because they let me live with them for four days in february. i have never seen so many fresias growing untamed on the grassy hillsides as i did here. one evening as the sun was setting, i lost my self amidst the garden paths and walk-ways. the fading evening light forced me to use slow shutterspeeds, resulting in an interesting-to-me mysterious and fantasy flavored group of photographs. in fact, i so lost my self that i returned to the house to find it had been locked up for the night. resorting to throwing stones against the window screens, i very fortunately was able to rouse someone from the house to let me in.
